About Us

The Marine Corps League Galveston County, Texas

The detachment was re-formed in April 1988. Our members represent all walks of civilian life and all ranks from within the Marine Corps. We are honored to have as associate members, veterans of other branches of the military services.

Mission Statement

PROMOTE THE INTERESTS OF THE UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS BY SERVING THOSE CURRENTLY ON ACTIVE DUTY IN THE MARINE CORPS AND THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN HONORABLE DISCHARGED FROM THE UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS. EFFECTIVELY PROMOTE THE IDEALS OF AMERICAN FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY BY VOLUNTARILY AIDING AND RENDERING ASSISTANCE TO ALL MARINES, FMF CORPSMAN, THEIR WIDOWS AND THEIR ORPHANS.

Fallen Marine Program

One of the primary objectives of the Marine Corps League is to recognize and honor fallen Marines. This site is dedicated to that goal. Many of our fellow Marines are passing without notice. Some receive gravesite services from the U. S. Marine Corps, V.F.W. or other organizations when formally requested. For most, however, the only notice received is a line in the obituary column stating, “Served in the U.S Marine Corps.” It is the goal of Detachment #668 to recognize and honor every Marine that falls within Galveston County. What better program could we support than one that honors our fallen comrades?
